Here are some of the different things we have been up to in Year 1 this year.

Outdoors 

In the last week before we had to close, the sun came out and we spent an afternoon in our outdoor area.

The Rainforest

We kicked off our new topic by becoming rainforest explorers, making our own binoculars and doing some role play. We enjoyed learning about rainforest animals, making a model of the layers of the rainforest and playing with all the rainforest creatures. 

100 Days of School

Since September we have been keeping a track of the number of days we have been in school. We used our place value, knowledge of one more/one less and lots of other skills to help us. On day number 100 we had a special party. 

Maths

Language 

Here are some pictures of practical language activities we have enjoyed in class. 

Winter

In January we were learning about the seasons, with a focus on winter. The children enjoyed making snowmen, snowflakes and playing with Arctic creatures in the fake snow.

Christmas 

Here are some of the different activities we did around Christmas time. We particularly enjoyed trying to trap the naughty elf!

Hospitals and the human body 

Here we are enjoying the hospital role play area and also learning about the different parts of our bodies.

Harvest

We performed a prayer we wrote as a class at the school Harvest Festival. Here are some pictures of us making the props we help up during the prayer.
