Ysgol Penycae Community Primary School

Respect and be respected. Value and be valued. Aim high

School Council / Cyngor Ysgol

What does the school council do?

Our School Council is elected annually from children in Year 1-6, each class has two representatives.

  • Our school council usually meets with Miss Holley to discuss and sort out problems. These could include school lunches, behaviour or ideas for fundraising events.
  • Members of the school council are responsible for carrying out the ideas that have been agreed upon, such as creating the Buddy Bench system and doing a competition for the "Friends of Penycae" logo.
  • The council will meet to elect roles such as Chair, Secretary and Treasurer.

When do we meet?

School council meet every Monday 3:15pm – 4pm.

Our Current Project

We are currently focusing on improving our school and the environment we are in by completing a toilet survey. We are asking what improvements the children in our school want and hopefully we will be able to improve the toilets and make them more comfortable for everyone to use.
