Literacy: Newsround Bulletins
In the Spring Term Blwyddyn 4 have worked really hard on creating a news bulletin about the Gresford Mining Disaster. The children wrote the script, recorded themselves in front of a green-screen and then with the help of our tech-guru we added the children’s chosen scenery to their videos. Happy watching!
Class Trip: Wrexham Miner’s Project
On Tuesday 18th February, Blwyddyn 4 visited the Wrexham Miner’s Project in Wrexham. The children spent some time learning about the history of coal mining in Wrexham and sharing their knowledge of the Gresford Mining Disaster. We went on a tour through history, visiting an underground bunker, crawling through a miner’s tunnel and navigating the maze. The children were given the opportunity to handle a variety of artefacts from coal-mining times. The children were fantastic ambassadors for our school!
Welsh Project: Make A Game
Blwyddyn 4 designed a snap, memory or bingo game in Cymraeg to be played with the younger children. Once we had designed and created our games we tested them out to check they worked. We met Miss Johnson’s class in the hall and then played our games altogether. It was lovely listening to Blwyddyn 4 teach Dosbarth Miss Johnson’s class how to play the games.
