Welcome to Dosbarth Mr Morris! We are reaching for new heights this term by looking at Welsh mountains and comparing them to mountains across the UK. There will be lots of opportunities to explore Geography, History, Numeracy, Welsh, Science and Technology, and Literacy.
We will also be looking at worldwide conservation, focusing on how the demand for palm oil has affected the environment.
We will be creating a database to help us collate information about UK mountains. We will also be looking at how mountains are formed and communicating our discoveries in a presentation. We will also be visiting Nant Bwlch yr Haern on a residential trip, where we will be looking at the spectacular landforms, including Y Wyddfa (Snowdon) itself!
Other trips will include a visit Agri-cation Education service to give the children a taste of agricultural practices and how food gets from the farm to our plate. We will also be visiting Chester Zoo to learn about the palm oil industry and it's impact on the natural world.
Forest School will continue on Thursdays, so please remember that children will need suitable clothing and footwear - spare clothes are advised. More detailed information is given in the Forest School section of our website. P.E. this term will be swimming on Friday mornings.
