Spring Term 2026

Welcome back; we hope everyone enjoyed a restful festive break and is feeling ready for an exciting new year of learning! Our topic this term is The Power of Change. We will explore changes in nature and in the second half of the term we will investigate states of matter. In Computing, we will be learning about programming and how making changes to code can control our sprite, linking closely with our Science and Technology Area of Learning Experience. Our English work will focus on narrative writing, and we will be changing the endings of traditional Welsh tales. In Maths, we will be developing our skills in addition and subtraction. Throughout the term, we will continue to take part in a variety of activities to support our wellbeing, making this a fun-filled, balanced and busy term for everyone. There will be no Forest School in the first half of the term; instead, we are excited to begin a balcony gardening project. 🌱🏕️

Our class novel this term is The Wrong Shoes by Tom Percival.

We also have our residential trip to Pentrellyncymmer from Wednesday 25th  - Friday 27th March 2026 to look forward to.

Autumn Term 2025

Welcome to the Autumn Term 2025 and a very warm welcome to our new class!

This term our exciting topic is “Food Glorious Food”, where we will be learning all about food groups, a balanced diet and what we can do to be healthier. We will also start to look at personal hygiene and how we can look after ourselves. In Humanities we're exploring the journey from farm to fork – including how far our food travels before it reaches our plates. We will also be studying the artist Andy Warhol and creating our own vibrant food artwork inspired by pop art. In Forest School, children will enjoy learning basic fire-starting skills, sharing hot chocolate and biscuits around the fire, playing games, and developing teamwork through den building. Our Christmas Concert will have a food theme too, helping us discover the best “recipe” for the true meaning of Christmas.

Our Class Novel this term is THE SMALL THINGS by Lisa Thompson.

We’re looking forward to a fun, creative and busy term together! 🍎🎨🔥
