Spring Term 2026

I hope you all had a lovely 2 weeks off for Christmas! Our topic this half term is called 'The Power of Change'. We are going to be learning about changes to ourselves, the environment and what has change from the past to present day.

This half term we are looking at focusing on 3 of the 6 areas of learning: Science and Technology, Humanities and Health and Wellbeing. We will be focusing pollution, human and natural changes to our world, how money has changed and the value of money, how our bodies change.

This term we will be attending our residential trip to Nant BH. We also have an exciting workshop with Tech She Can about AI and robotics and a trip to the Odeon, Wrexham to watch a documentary: 'Oceans' from David Attenborough - linked to ocean pollution, climate change and what we can do to help.

There will be no Forest school this half term but instead we are excited to begin our balcony gardening project where children will learn about planting, caring for plants, and observing changes over time.

Our class novel this term is: The Girl Who Stole The Elephant - Nizrana Farook

Autumn Term 2025

Welcome to Year 5/6! I hope you all had a lovely 6 weeks off! Our topic this half term is called 'Food Glorious Food'. We are going to be learning about what it means to live a healthy lifestyle, where our food comes from and different cuisines.

This half term we are looking at focusing on 3 of the 6 areas of learning: Languages, Literacy and Communication, Health and Wellbeing and Science and Technology. We will be focusing on getting to know each other and our interests, descriptive writing and all about plants.

This term we will be attending swimming sessions in Plas Madoc on a Friday morning and if they have expressed an interest in instrumental lessons these will be taking place during the week.

Our class novel this term: The Last Bear - Hannah Gold.
